Terms of Service

Evidentia is a research, evidence-discovery, and research-literacy service. It can retrieve scientific literature, generate search strategies, rank studies, summarize research, create automated evidence signals, preserve screening decisions, and provide research exports.

Automated outputs may be incomplete, incorrect, out of date, or based on incomplete retrieval. Evidentia does not guarantee that a search is exhaustive or that an output satisfies the methodological requirements of a systematic review, regulatory submission, clinical guideline, or other formal process.

Evidentia does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, legal advice, or other licensed professional services. Use of the service does not create a doctor-patient, researcher-subject, attorney-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.

You are responsible for independently evaluating information before using it for research, clinical, policy, business, academic, or personal decisions. See the Research & Medical Disclaimer.

Relevance scores, PICO matches, extracted result sentences, evidence-direction labels, evidence scores, confidence measures, summaries, and similar outputs are automated decision-support and research-prioritization aids. They are not verified facts or final reviewer judgments.

Users should inspect the cited source and, where appropriate, the full publication before relying on an automated extraction or classification.

You agree to use Evidentia lawfully and not to interfere with, probe, overload, reverse engineer where prohibited by law, or bypass security or usage controls of the service or its data providers.

You must not submit information you are not authorized to process. Do not enter identifiable patient information, protected health information, confidential research-subject information, passwords, financial credentials, or other highly sensitive personal data.

You may not use Evidentia to impersonate a licensed professional, fabricate research evidence, misrepresent automated output as human-reviewed findings, or falsely claim that Evidentia, PubMed, NCBI, NLM, NIH, TikTok, an AI provider, or a publication endorses a conclusion.

Evidentia relies on third-party services and data sources, including PubMed/NCBI and, for some features, third-party AI-processing infrastructure. TikTok Check also uses TikTok's public oEmbed service when you submit a supported TikTok URL. Those services can change, fail, limit access, retain operational data under their own policies, or contain errors.

Submitting a TikTok link authorizes Evidentia to request public metadata for that link for the purpose of providing the feature. You are responsible for using only URLs/content you are authorized to submit and for complying with applicable third-party terms.

Scientific papers, abstracts, figures, trademarks, social-media content, and other third-party content remain subject to the rights and licenses of their respective owners. Evidentia does not grant you rights to redistribute copyrighted publication or social-media content. See the PubMed / NCBI Notice.

Health-related searches can be sensitive. Quick Check claims and TikTok URLs appear in Evidentia page URLs and may therefore be stored in browser history, copied links, bookmarks, or ordinary service request records. Recent Quick Check searches and Research Mode projects are also stored locally in the browser as described in the Privacy & Consumer Health Data Policy.

Use of Quick Check can involve transmitting the claim and selected scientific text through PubMed/NCBI and AI-processing services needed to produce the requested result. Do not submit identifiable health information.

Except for third-party content and open-source components governed by their own licenses, Evidentia's branding, original interface, product design, software, and original materials are owned by or licensed to Evidentia's operator. These Terms do not transfer ownership to users.

Current Research Mode projects are primarily stored in browser local storage. Browser data can be lost or cleared. Users can delete projects from the Projects page and clear Evidentia browser-local data through the Privacy Policy controls or browser settings.

You are responsible for exporting or backing up important research work. Evidentia is not a records-retention or archival service.

Evidentia is not directed to children under 13. Users who are not legally able to agree to these Terms in their jurisdiction should use the service only with appropriate parent, guardian, or institutional authorization where permitted.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Evidentia is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Evidentia and its operator(s) will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost research work, lost profits, or decisions made in reliance on the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law or third-party requirements, or improve the service. We may restrict access for abusive, unlawful, or harmful use.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue and dispute provisions should be reviewed with counsel before paid or institutional use is launched.

Use of Evidentia is also subject to the Privacy & Consumer Health Data Policy. We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material revisions should be reflected by a new effective date and, where required, an additional notice or consent step.
